Colorado Mortgage Broker License Requirements
Mortgage broker applicants are required by Colorado law to complete 40 hours of approved education and pass the two-part exam prior to applying for a mortgage broker license. The mortgage broker course must consist of the following to meet the 40 hour requirement:
- State and Federal Law totaling 19.5 hours of education coursework
- Mortgage 101 totaling 16 hours of education coursework
- Business and Trade Practices totaling 4.5 hours of education coursework.
Colorado Mortgage Lending License Exam Information
PSI, a national testing provider, will administer and grade the mortgage broker licensing examination. The exam will consist of two parts totaling 100 questions:
- State and Federal Law (30 state questions and 30 federal questions)
- Mortgage Lending Basics (40 general questions)
